Decent At Best

Alright, so this game was... Well, like the title of this review says, decent at best. The actual game (DDR/FFR/Guitar Hero type, whatever) is done a lot, and so the only chance you have to redeem yourself is the concept/story, the songs you chose, and how well made it was overall.

As for the story, I thought it was pretty good. Kind of unique, and the picks were entertaining. The songs you used were good, especially considering you could only use stuff from the audio portal. As for how well it was made overall... There were problems.

First off, it was REALLY easy on the whole, but also extremely frustrating. A lot of the time the arrows didn't seem to be in sync with the music, and didn't really line up correctly with the arrows (If that makes sense).

Basically, a lot of the time I found myself trying to figure out where the beat of the arrows would hit, and a lot of the time I found myself trying to press the arrow a second before the arrow actually made it to the arrow it was going to overlap.

I only failed once, and that was on the armor games pick. The reason for this is probably because that song has a lot of arrows in close proximity, and a weird glitch happens (Or at least it happened to me) if you screw up. I missed one arrow, and suddenly I was stuck. I was pressing the correct arrows at the correct time, but every single one was coming up as a miss. Not even "too late" or "too early," just all misses, but they were disappearing as I was pressing!

All in all this is really just a decent game. It's not horrible, it has a good concept and fun music to play along with, but it can get pretty annoying, and it's really easy to just beat - even the 'secret key pick.' And also, the secrets aren't really worth unlocking. I mean I don't really want to play through a game so I can unlock random factoids. Although I guess I found the last one about how to get inducted into the museum interesting.

So yeah, good work, and it was pretty good, but it was nothing amazing.

Hahaha ok thanks for the review.

Very good concept

Great concept, at first I was confused, then I caught on. What a great concept, adding four paddles, and then throwing in the speed. Maintaining it's speed was extremely hard, especially keeping it going in one direction. This is a great game, just because of the challenge. Nothing graphicly spectacular, but that's ok. You probably could have added levels or something to keep it interesting, but still, very good. Good job!

AcidDimensions responds:

Glad you liked it.

I plan to return to this at some point and add enemies and stuff.

Thanks for the fairly thorough review.

Stay funky,

Great Game

Very fun, I really like the funhouse mode. That was crazy, sometimes it flashed Game Over when you were playing it though, Oh well, either way it's a fun game. Easy controls to learn, although sometimes I forgot the buttons and started messing up lol, And challenging. Overall, great job, especially funhouse mode.

gavD responds:

Glad you liked funhouse mode - it's kinda silly, huh?

heh heh, 6 is probably far too many buttons - Golden Axe did fine with 3, and Final Fight with just 2! Sorry!

Well

Really it's just a remake of flash flash revoulution, and a bad remake at that. Although it is ok. It was a bit glitchy however, and hard to actually hit the arrows. And the arrows didn't really match the music. lol. Good job though.

Starogre responds:

ur face is a bad remake

Pretty good

My best time was 3.284, you should make the tracks shorter, or maybe delete the damage factor cause that gets hard, crashing slows you down enough but I almost died near the end, which woulda pissed me off. Anyways you should consider making this into a bigger game, with more tracks, or you could make it so you have to unlock tracks by getting under a certain time, that would be fun, and being able to choose the color of your little car (go-kart?). Anyways good job on this, although the sound was kinda messed up, if you slowed down it would just stop the sound, and if you crashed without accelerating after it repeats the crash sound.

nine-iron responds:

Well the sound of the crash goes away if accelerate, first of all, and then unlocking tracks was not the original idea, but I'll consider it.

Meh...

Movie: Sucks, honestly its just a stick figure with a face and orange hair.
Game: Entertained me for awhile, double bar was an interesting twist, but it was too easy and I got bored after awhile, so I just lost on purpose.

Interesting

This is simple, yet addictive, and fun. What you should do is change it so that it actually has to touch the triangle, I've died too many times by just being 'a bit too close'. And add sound, this is a great start, I especially like the extra game. What you should do is either upgrade this or make a sequal, good start, build off it.

Begoner responds:

Thanks. I tried doing a seperate hittest for the three different components of the triangle, and it worked just fine for two of the components, and the game got messed up with it hit the third component. So I resorted to a simpler hittest which doesn't work very well. I'll definately try to improve the hitting gltich.

Meh

Too simple, too easy.

IWantSomeCookies responds:

aww. im sorry you didn't enjoy it, however, alot of people did! :D

p.s you look really cool drinking mountain dew in your profilie ^_^

Pretty fun game

To describe this game in 3 words it would be: Simple, Fun, Addicting. While easy it provides a certain challenge. Although the sound when you get the things gets annoying after awhile, but that doesn't matter. Nice work!

BILLANDBEN responds:

thanks

It was... Ok

I thought the mario game would be awsome, but it turned out to be a short tutorial thing. >:( You should make that into a full game. The 'shoot the bottles' was simple, boring, and annoying, not worth my time. The quiz was WAAAY too easy. The killers thing was not only boring and simple, but you can just guess and win theres only 3 anyways. Click and drag its not that hard. The identify the band was pretty cool, and I got it on my first try =D You should try making that into a full game too, with alot of different ones, and harder ones. And finally, the rock paper scisrors thing saved this. I thought it was just gunna be "click, you win, you lose, whatever, go back to main screen?" or something, but it was interesting. Nice little.. comic game. It was a bit easy (although I did accidently screw up once) but entertaining. Good job, and you should consider remaking these into full games: Mario Typer - That would be kickass, Identify the band - Just add alot and it would get a decent score, and Rock Paper Scissors - Either make another one of these, but not so simple, or even make an animated game cause that would be totally awsome!

Kolibiri responds:

Wow, you typed so much for lil' ol' me. I don't do remakes though (nor extensions).

99 songs but a hit ain't one.
